The department library, online.

SmartLibrary is the digital home of the department library at Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. Members can browse the collection, follow their loans and settle fines online — while a self-service kiosk in the library handles issuing and returning through RFID. No queues, no paperwork.

Why RFID?

RFID needs no line of sight: a whole stack of books can be checked in or out in a single sweep. It's fast, dependable and keeps the catalog accurate without adding work for library staff — which means the shelves you see online are the shelves that are actually there.

How the library works

• Members can browse the catalog and view their own loans and fines online.
• Issuing and returning take place at the self-service kiosk in the library.
• Overdue charges are calculated automatically and can be paid online in a few clicks.
• Library staff manage the collection, memberships and lending rules from a dedicated console.
