Privacy & data handling

SmartLibrary stores only what the library needs to lend books: a minimal membership record, loan history and the settings that keep the catalog running. Library records are held on the college's hosted database and are visible only to you and authorised library staff.

What we store

• Your membership details — registration number, name, email and card reference.
• Your loan history — which copy was issued, the due date, the return date and any overdue charge.
• Messages you send through the contact form, so the library desk can reply.

Card references

Library cards are identified by reference numbers, and only an abbreviated form (e.g. A4:XX:XX:91) is ever shown on screen. Your sign-in is protected by a signed session cookie and password-based access.

Payments

Overdue charges can be paid online through Razorpay, a licensed payment provider. Only the amount and reference needed to process the payment are shared with them — never your loan history or contact details. Card numbers are entered on Razorpay's own secure page and are not stored by SmartLibrary.
